Petrol and hybrid
- Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder / Maruti Grand Vitara Strong Hybrid — 23-24 km/l real world against a 27.97 km/l claim. The best real-world efficiency of any petrol-fuelled car sold in India.
- Honda City e:HEV — 21-22 km/l, and it is a genuinely refined midsize sedan rather than a compromise.
- Maruti Dzire — 18-19 km/l from the Z12E three-cylinder, the best of the non-hybrids.
- Maruti Celerio — 19-20 km/l with the AMT, helped by an 810 kg kerb weight.

Diesel
